Membership & Subscription Agreement

Last updated:

This agreement explains how paid memberships work in plain language. Billing questions? Email james@sozyr.tech.

1. What this agreement covers#

This agreement between you and Byte Market Holding Corp (“Byte Market”, “we”, “us”) covers paid memberships and subscriptions in our own apps. Today that means Bar Bump’s subscriptions, which are sold through the Apple App Store and Google Play and managed with RevenueCat. It will also cover any paid tiers we add to our other apps.

Memberships in apps we build for clients (such as DuckSmart) are governed by those clients’ own terms. Where a client app links to this agreement as its own, such as PureRipper, this agreement applies to that app’s subscriptions until it publishes its own terms. This agreement adds to our Terms of Use; if they conflict on a membership matter, this agreement controls.

2. What a membership includes#

The features included in each plan are described on the purchase screen in the app before you subscribe. Our apps keep developing, so we may add, change or remove features in a plan. If we remove a major feature you are paying for, we will tell you in advance in the app or by email, and you can cancel before your next renewal.

3. Plans, prices and free trials#

Plans may be weekly, monthly, yearly or another period. The price, billing period and any trial length are shown in the app before you confirm, in your local currency, and may include taxes as set by Apple or Google. Prices can vary by country and platform.

If a plan offers a free trial, you won’t be charged during the trial. When the trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription and you are charged automatically, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Free trials are usually limited to one per person, account or device.

4. Automatic renewal#

Your subscription renews automatically.

  • It renews at the end of each billing period, for the same length and at the then-current price, until you cancel.
  • Your Apple ID or Google Play account is charged within 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • To stop the next charge, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends. See How to cancel.
  • Deleting the app or your account does not cancel your subscription.

By subscribing, you agree to these recurring charges. Apple or Google will send you a receipt for each charge, and your current plan and renewal date are always shown in your Apple or Google subscription settings.

5. How to cancel#

Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, so you cancel through them:

When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the period you’ve already paid for, and you won’t be charged again. If you need help, email us and we’ll walk you through it.

6. Price changes#

We may change subscription prices. We will give you notice in advance, through Apple or Google, in the app or by email, as the platform’s rules and the law require. Where the platform or the law requires it, you will be asked to agree to a price increase before it applies; otherwise, the new price applies from your next renewal after the notice, and you can cancel before then if you don’t want to continue.

7. Refunds#

Because Apple and Google process the payments, they handle refunds under their own policies, and we can’t issue refunds for those purchases ourselves.

Except where the law or the platform’s policy says otherwise, cancelling stops future charges but doesn’t refund the current period. If something went wrong with a purchase, email us and we will help however we can.

8. Family Sharing#

If a subscription is marked as eligible for Apple Family Sharing or Google Play Family Library on its store page, family members in your group can use it under the platform’s rules. Bar Bump is for adults 21 and over, so family members must also meet that age requirement. If a subscription isn’t marked as eligible, it can’t be shared.

9. Suspension for misuse#

We may suspend or end a membership if the account breaks our Terms of Use, for example through fraud, harassment, sharing accounts or abusing free trials. If we end a membership because of misuse, refunds aren’t owed except where the law or the platform requires them.

10. If an app is discontinued#

We may discontinue an app or a paid plan at any time. When we do, we stop new renewals, and your paid features remain available until the end of your current billing period or the shutdown date, whichever comes first. Refunds for any unused time are handled by Apple or Google under their policies (see Refunds). If an app is sold to a new owner, your subscription may move to them.

11. No guaranteed results#

A membership gives you access to features. It doesn’t guarantee any particular result, such as more matches, connections, venue perks, followers or views. Venue offers and events shown in apps are provided by third parties and can change or end.

12. Other terms#

Our Terms of Use also apply to memberships, including their disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law (Washington) and venue (King County, Washington). Apple’s and Google’s terms apply to the payment itself. We may update this agreement and will change the “Last updated” date. If we make a significant change, we will give you notice before it applies to your next renewal. How we handle subscription data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

13. Billing questions#

For questions about a membership, email james@sozyr.tech with the app name and the email on your account. For charges, receipts or payment methods, contact Apple or Google directly, since they hold your payment details.
